An steel 0.5kg Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) gas cylinder B00,85 is the ideal and most popular choice for aquariums up to about 100 to 150 liters.
Important info!
Key Features & Specifications:
- Purity: High-purity carbon dioxide (CO₂) of aquarium quality (at least 99.9% pure) to prevent unwanted oils, gases, or contaminants from entering the aquarium water and disrupting the fragile ecological balance.
- Applications:
- Optimizing plant growth and stimulating photosynthesis in freshwater aquariums and aquascapes.
- Accurately regulating and lowering the pH level (acidity) of the aquarium water in combination with a pH controller.
- Supplying specialized systems such as CO₂ reactors, diffusers, and inline atomizers.
Product details
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas cylinder, filled with 0,5 kg CO₂, specially designed and optimized for the aquarium (built for long-term, safe, and professional use).
Transport
Transport
- Strictly upright and secured: Preferably transport the cylinder upright and secure it firmly (in a crate or with straps) so it cannot tip over or roll around while driving.
- Remove pressure regulator: Always remove the pressure regulator (reducing valve) from the cylinder before the trip and screw the protective cap or bracket onto the valve to prevent damage.
- No heat: Never leave the gas cylinder unattended in a locked car parked in the sun. The pressure in the cylinder rises significantly due to the increasing temperature.
- Ventilation: Ensure sufficient fresh air in the car during transport, as CO₂ can displace oxygen in the event of a leak.

Safety
Important Safety Instructions for a 0,5 kg CO₂ Gas Cylinder in the Aquarium
- Always place and mount upright: Ensure that the cylinder CO₂ is always kept strictly upright during transport, storage, and use. A steel or aluminum cylinder has space for gas formation; if the cylinder tips over, liquid CO₂ can flow directly into the pressure regulator and solenoid valve. This causes extreme pressure, can permanently damage your equipment, and leads to an uncontrolled flow of gas into the aquarium.
- Secure against tipping: A 0,5 kg cylinder has a narrow diameter (approximately 6 cm) and easily tips over. Always place the cylinder in a sturdy cylinder holder, mount it to the wall of the aquarium cabinet, or secure it in a bracket.
- Safety during storage and transport: Never store or transport the gas cylinder in a sweltering car or directly next to a heat source. The pressure inside the cylinder increases as the temperature rises. Never expose the cylinder to temperatures above 50°C and do not throw or drop it. Gas Cylinder in the Aquarium
