20 kg Carbon Dioxide CO₂ - Aquarium - B30 - Steel

Please contact us to order

A 20 kg steel CO₂ gas cylinder (Model B30) is the ultimate industrial giant in CO₂ supply. This extra-heavy, large-scale steel model is specially designed for mega-aquarium systems, large-scale commercial breeding facilities, or extreme aquascapes where a gigantic and continuous demand for carbon dioxide is required.

Important info!

Applications in the Aquarium:

  • Maximum Continuity & Operational Time: Provides an inexhaustible, long-lasting source of CO₂, meaning that even in massive water systems, the cylinder rarely needs to be swapped out.
  • Mega-Scale pH Regulation: Essential for accurately and fully automated management of the acidity balance in massive water volumes.
  • Large-Scale Plant Growth: Supports unprecedented, demanding plant masses and rapid biomass growth in gigantic aquascapes or open systems.
  • Industrial Professional Automation: Designed for direct connection to heavy industrial dual-stage pressure regulators, advanced PLC-controlled pH systems, and large external CO₂ reactors or atomizers.
Product details

Carbon dioxide CO₂ gas cylinder, filled with 20kg of CO₂, specially for aquarium use (made for long-term and professional use).

Transport:

  • Fixation: Due to the weight and dimensions, proper fixation with professional ratchet straps at two heights in the vehicle is mandatory.
  • ADR regulations: For commercial transport, this size (partly due to the total weight of the filled cylinder) almost always falls under the relevant transport legislation (ADR). Ensure you have the correct documentation and safety equipment (fire extinguisher).

Dimensions Janox CO₂ Gas Cylinder

  • Total height:929 mm (including protective valve/handle)
  • Diameter: Ø 221 mm

Specific safety information for the B30 (Steel):

  • Always upright: Usage and transport must take place strictly  in an upright position. The enormous amount of liquid CO₂ in this cylinder makes the consequences of horizontal use even more severe; when the valve is opened, liquid can flow into the regulator, immediately leading to freezing and serious damage to the system.
  • Mechanical assistance required: Due to the high dead weight and the 20 kg fill, it is physically heavy and dangerous to move the B30 manually. Always use a robust cylinder hand truck or a pallet jack.
  • Freezing risk & preheating: With a cylinder of this size, the chance of the valve freezing during continuous withdrawal is very high. The use of a pressure regulator with an electric heating element is almost always necessary with this model to ensure a constant gas flow and to prevent valve freezing.
  • Great risk in case of leakage: A 20 kg CO₂ cylinder contains a massive mass of gas. An unnoticed leak in a confined space will very quickly bring oxygen displacement to a critical level. Permanent CO₂ detection with an alarm function is strongly recommended in rooms where a B30 cylinder is located.
