A 4 kg steel CO₂ gas cylinder (Model B05,4) is a powerful and durable cylinder with an extra-large capacity. This model is specially designed for larger aquariums or heavily planted aquascapes, where a longer service life and less frequent replacements are desired.

Important info!

Applications in the Aquarium:

  • Intensive Plant Fertilization: Ensures a continuous and stable CO₂ supply for very large or densely planted aquariums.
  • pH Regulation: Helps to accurately lower and keep the acidity stable in larger water volumes.
  • Algae Control: Supports plants in effectively keeping algae at bay by maintaining optimal growth conditions.
  • Automation: Excellently combinable with pH controllers, solenoid valves for nighttime shut-off, and advanced diffusers or reactors.
Product details

Carbon dioxide CO₂ gas cylinder, filled with 4kg of CO₂, specially for aquarium use (made for long-term and professional use).

Transport:

  • Fixation: Due to its greater weight (compared to 1.5 kg and 2 kg cylinders), proper fixation in the vehicle is essential. Use a dedicated cylinder holder or ratchet straps to prevent the cylinder from sliding or tipping over while driving.
  • Protective cap: During transport, always ensure that the protective cap is screwed onto the valve once the pressure regulator has been removed.

Dimensions Janox CO₂ Gas Cylinder

  • Total height: 596 mm (including protective valve/handle)
  • Diameter: Ø 140 mm

Specific safety information for the B05,4 (Steel)

  • Always upright: It is crucial that this cylinder is strictly used and transported upright. In a tilted or lying position, liquid CO₂ can enter the pressure regulator, leading to immediate freezing (-78°C) and potentially causing serious damage to the equipment.
  • Temperature management: The internal pressure depends on the ambient temperature. Avoid exposure to heat sources or direct sunlight, as the pressure in the cylinder rises rapidly when heated.
  • Ventilation: Since CO₂ is heavier than air, it can displace oxygen in the lower levels of a room in the event of a leak. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in basements or confined spaces.
  • Risk of freezing: During rapid gas withdrawal, the valve can freeze. For continuous use, use a pressure regulator with a built-in heating element to prevent the valve from freezing (and the subsequent blockage of the gas flow).
