Carbon dioxide CO₂ - Food Grade - B50 - bundle

Please contact us to order

A food-grade carbon dioxide (CO₂) B50 cylinder bundle (food additive E290) is a professional gas supply system specially designed for large-scale applications in the food and beverage industry.

Because this bundle is specifically "food grade," the purity of the gas meets the strict requirements of the food industry (for example, for carbonating beverages or for packaging processes under a modified atmosphere). The gas is stored under saturated vapour pressure (approx. 50–60 bar). The 16 cylinders are centrally connected to a main valve and distribution block.

Important info!

Key features:

  • Huge capacity: With a 600 kg supply, this bundle is the industry standard for large-scale facilities; it virtually eliminates the need to change individual cylinders.
  • Certified purity: Food-grade CO₂ ensures that the gas is free from impurities, which is essential for consumer products.
  • Industrial frame: The frame features lifting eyes and forklift slots, which are essential for moving this bundle, as it weighs over 1,200 kg when full.
  • Applications: Large-scale soft drink and beer production, large-scale cooling in the food industry, or as a central source for complex piping networks in factories.
Product details

Carbon dioxide (CO₂) bundle, 16 cylinders filled with 37.5 kg of CO₂ each (600 kg total), specifically developed for an inert environment that inhibits bacterial growth and keeps products fresh (built for long-term and professional use).

Transport & Logistics:

  • Mechanical transport: The bundle may only be moved by certified personnel using a heavy-duty forklift or crane. The center of gravity is high, necessitating careful handling.
  • ADR transport: Transporting a full bundle is a complex logistical operation that must comply with strict ADR regulations for hazardous materials (UN 1013). This is typically performed by the gas supplier using specialized trucks.

Specific safety information for the Food Grade Bundle:

  • Stationary setup: A bundle is almost always placed outdoors or in a specially equipped, intensively ventilated technical room. The quantity of gas is so large that a leak in a normal workspace would immediately lead to a life-threatening oxygen-deficient environment.
  • CO₂ detection & Alarm system: The use of a linked CO₂ detection system with emergency ventilation is strictly mandatory in the room where the bundle is located (or where the pipes converge).
  • Pressure regulation & Heating: Withdrawing large volumes of CO₂ from a bundle causes extreme cold. A professional central preheating system is necessary to prevent the distribution block and valves from freezing.
  • Coupling safety: All couplings in the piping system must be "Food Grade" and regularly checked for leaks. Use only approved sealing materials that are suitable for the food industry.
