Product details
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) gas cylinder, filled with 1 kg of CO₂, specially developed for food applications (built for long-term and professional use).
Transport
Important transport rules:
- Transport upright: Preferably transport gas cylinders securely fastened in an upright position to prevent rolling or falling (unless they are specific cylinders designed for horizontal transport).
- Good ventilation: Always ensure sufficient ventilation in the cargo area when transporting in a car or van. Isolate the cabin from the gas cylinders if possible.
- Valves closed: Ensure the cylinder valve is fully closed during transport and, where applicable, fitted with a protective cap.
- Do not leave unattended: Do not leave gas cylinders unnecessarily long in a closed, hot vehicle (prevent exposure to direct sunlight and temperatures above 50 °C).
- Legislation (ADR): For private transport of small quantities (such as a B02 or B03L cylinder for personal use), exemptions under ADR regulations generally apply, provided the cylinders are properly secured against damage and shifting. For large quantities or professional delivery traffic, specific ADR regulations apply.

Safety
Although CO₂ seems harmless (E290), it poses risks due to high pressure, extreme cold, and the danger of asphyxiation.
Main rules:
- Ventilation: Always use or store cylinders in well-ventilated areas (the gas is heavier than air and sinks to the ground).
- Fixation: Always secure gas cylinders firmly in an upright position so they cannot tip over.
- Heat protection: Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources (maximum 50 °C).
- Correct equipment: Only use approved pressure regulators and check for leaks.
- Skin contact: Watch out for cold burns (frostbite) from escaping liquefied gas.
- Huidcontact: Pas op voor vriesbrand door de kou bij het ontsnappen van vloeibaar gas.
