A Nitrogen (N₂) B50 gas cylinder is a large, professional industrial gas cylinder with a water capacity of 50 liters, filled with nitrogen under high pressure (200 or 300 bar). This "Foodgrade" version guarantees the highest level of purity and traceability, which is essential for large-scale industrial processes in the food industry where the gas comes into direct contact with the product.

Nitrogen is stored in the B50 as a gas under high pressure. Because it is not liquid at room temperature, the gas remains stable under all normal operating conditions. The B50 is the standard for users who require a high degree of continuity; the large capacity in this cylinder ensures a significantly longer operating time than smaller models.

Important info!

Key features:

  • Maximum capacity: The B50 offers the largest supply of gas in a single cylinder, minimizing the logistical burden of cylinder changes.
  • Inert nature: Nitrogen is indispensable for displacing oxygen, preventing spoilage, oxidation, and mold growth in food products.
  • Foodgrade standard: Complies with strict food safety regulations, with guaranteed purity specifications.
  • Applications: Large-scale MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) lines, inerting large storage tanks and silo systems, and professional central installations in breweries or dairy plants.
Product details

Nitrogen N₂ gas cylinder, filled with 50L of N₂, specially developed to help food stay fresh longer. It can also form a protective layer around the food, reducing the risk of breakage during transport. (designed for long-term and professional use).

Transport & Use

  • Mechanical transport: Due to its weight and size, manually moving a full B50 is risky. Always use a robust cylinder trolley or a mechanical aid.
  • Securing in vehicle: For transport, proper fixation with certified ratchet straps at two heights is mandatory.
  • ADR regulations: For commercial transport, the B50 is subject to ADR guidelines (UN 1066). Ensure the correct documentation and safety equipment (fire extinguisher) are in the vehicle.

Specific safety information for Nitrogen (N₂)

  • Suffocation hazard (Priority 1): A B50 cylinder contains an enormous amount of nitrogen gas under high pressure. A leak in an enclosed or poorly ventilated space can drop oxygen levels below lethal limits in a very short timePermanent ventilation is essential.
  • High-pressure system: Working with 200 or 300 bar requires professional pressure regulators specifically certified for this inlet pressure. Always check the condition of hoses and connections.
  • No liquid phase: Unlike CO₂ cylinders, a nitrogen cylinder does not necessarily need to be upright to deliver gas. However, strict vertical fixation remains the safety standard to prevent damage to the valve and accidental tipping.
  • Valve protection: The B50 is heavy and long; the valve is very vulnerable if it falls. Always wear the protective cap when the cylinder is not connected.
