A carbon dioxide (CO₂) B13 gas cylinder is a robust, industrial gas cylinder with a water capacity of approximately 13.4 liters, filled with 10 kg of liquid CO₂. Unlike the aluminum version, this cylinder is manufactured from high-quality steel, making it extremely wear-resistant and able to withstand the harshest industrial conditions.

As with other CO₂ cylinders, the gas is stored under saturated vapor pressure (approximately 50-60 bar at room temperature). No porous mass is required; the gas is in a stable liquid state within the steel walls. Due to the combination of a substantial supply and the durability of steel, this is a widely used workhorse in various sectors.

Important info!

Key features:

  • Robust construction: The steel design is resistant to rough handling, impacts, and heavy working conditions, making this model the standard for long-term industrial use.
  • High capacity: With 10 kg of CO₂, this cylinder offers a long usage time, which minimizes swaps and ensures the continuity of processes.
  • Applications: Widely used in the professional heavy welding work (MAG welding), and in industry for processes where a reliable, constant supply of CO₂ is required.
Product details

Carbon dioxide CO₂ gas cylinder, filled with 10 kg of CO₂, specially designed for industrial gases, welding, and metalworking (made for professional and intensive use).

Transport:

  • Fixation: Due to the weight and dimensions, proper fixation in the vehicle with certified tension straps (at two heights) is mandatory. Under no circumstances should the cylinder be able to slide or tip over.
  • Protection: Always keep the protective cap on the valve during transport. Because this is a steel cylinder, its weight combined with an unprotected valve can lead to very dangerous situations if it falls.

Specific safety information for the B13 (Steel)

  • Always upright: It is strictly necessary that the B13 is always used and stored vertically. Horizontal use allows liquid CO₂ to flow directly into the pressure regulator, which, due to the extreme cold (-78°C during expansion), leads to immediate freezing, jamming, and potential mechanical defects in your equipment.
  • Weight and handling: Due to the steel housing, this cylinder is significantly heavy when full (including dead weight). Always use a hand truck for moving, and never try to lift the cylinder alone when loading a vehicle.
  • Risk of freezing during high withdrawal: With a 10 kg cylinder, the chance of the valve freezing during intensive use is high. It is strongly recommended to use a pressure regulator with preheating to ensure a constant gas flow.
  • Risk of asphyxiation: A 10 kg cylinder contains a very large amount of gas. An uncontrolled leak in a confined space can lead to a critical drop in oxygen levels in a very short time. Always ensure good ventilation in the storage area and workshop.
