A carbon dioxide (CO₂) B02 cylinder is a compact, lightweight industrial gas cylinder with a water capacity of approximately 2 liters (good for 1.5 kg of liquid CO₂). The cylinder is manufactured from high-quality aluminum, which ensures a low dead weight and excellent corrosion resistance.

Important info!

Key features:

  • Aluminum housing: The low weight of the aluminum cylinder makes this size ideal for mobile applications where the cylinder needs to be moved frequently.
  • No porous mass: Because CO₂ is stable in liquid form, no additional internal filling is required.
  • Applications: Commonly used for small welding projects (as a shielding gas, often in combination with Argon), or as a portable fire extinguisher.

Product details

Carbon dioxide CO₂,  gas cylinder, filled with 1.5kg CO₂,  , specially for welding technology and light industrial applications (made for long-term and professional use).

  • Vertical securing: This also applies to this small B02 cylinder: secure it vertically. A liquid CO₂ cylinder that rolls onto its side during transport can immediately send liquid into the valve when opened.
  • Ventilation: Ensure sufficient fresh air, even in a passenger car, especially in a small, enclosed space.

Important safety information for CO₂

When working with CO₂, specific rules apply that differ from those for helium:

  • Asphyxiation and toxicity: CO₂ is heavier than air and accumulates at ground level. It is not only asphyxiating but, in higher concentrations, also toxic (risk of poisoning). Ensure good ventilation and, preferably, CO₂ detection in small spaces.
  • Risk of frostbite: When CO₂ escapes, the liquid expands into a gas and "dry ice" (solid CO₂) can form. The temperature of the valve and regulator can drop to -78°C. In the event of a leak, never touch the metal parts directly to avoid severe frostbite.
  • Vertical use: Always use and transport the cylinder upright. If the cylinder is lying down, liquid CO₂ can enter the pressure regulator, which will immediately freeze the regulator and render it unusable, or even cause it to burst.
  • Pressure regulator: Use a specific CO₂ pressure regulator. Because CO₂ is stored in liquid form in the cylinder, the pressure on the gauge remains constant until the liquid is almost depleted. This is in contrast to helium, where the pressure drops gradually.
