Product details
Nitrogen N₂ gas cylinder, filled with 5L of N₂, specially developed for industrial applications. It can be used to prevent oxidation, corrosion, fires, or explosions through an inert action, and ensures reliable performance during demanding processes such as purging pipelines, pressure testing, and inerting (developed for long-term and professional use).
Transport
Transport & Use:
- Fixation: Even with this small B5 cylinder, it is essential to secure it in a vehicle or at the workplace (e.g., in a cylinder holder) to prevent it from falling and damaging the valve.
- Protection cap: Always use the protection cap during transport. A broken-off valve on a 200/300 bar cylinder can turn the cylinder into a dangerous projectile due to the enormous pressure reaction.
- Ventilation: Ensure natural ventilation in the room where the cylinder is used.
Information
Safety
Specific safety information for Nitrogen (N₂):
- Asphyxiation hazard: Nitrogen makes up 78% of our normal air, but in pure form in a cylinder, it is an asphyxiant gas. It is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. In the event of a leak in a small or poorly ventilated space, the oxygen in the air is displaced, which is immediately life-threatening.
- High pressure: The cylinder is under very high pressure (up to 300 bar). Handle the pressure regulator with care and ensure it is suitable for the high inlet pressure of nitrogen.
- No liquid phase: Because nitrogen is a high-pressure gas, you do not have issues with freezing valves as you do with CO₂. The cylinder can therefore be used both vertically and horizontally (lying down), although vertical is preferred for stability and safety.
- No explosion hazard: Nitrogen is non-flammable and does not support combustion, making it a very safe choice in the food industry for stabilizing products.
