Weldmix 15% AR CO₂ - B05
A Weldmix 15% B05 gas cylinder is a compact industrial gas cylinder with a water capacity of 5 liters, filled with a mixed gas for MAG (Metal Active Gas) welding. The ratio of 85% Argon and 15% CO₂ is a widely used "all-round" mixture, offering an excellent balance between weld quality and penetration when welding standard unalloyed structural steel.
Unlike the 2% mixtures often used for thin stainless steel, the higher CO₂ percentage (15%) in this mix ensures deeper penetration and a higher welding speed. This makes it an ideal mixed gas for general construction work. The cylinder contains gas under high pressure (200 bar).
Key features:
- All-round usability: The 15% CO₂ addition provides a powerful arc that performs excellently on thicker structural steel, while the Argon base ensures a stable and easily controllable welding process.
- Compact B05 format: Thanks to its small size, this cylinder is highly mobile and extremely suitable for maintenance technicians, on-site repair work, or smaller workshops.
- High-pressure system: The gas is stored as a stable mixture under high pressure, allowing you to maintain a consistent gas flow via the regulator throughout the entire duration of use.

Transport
Transport & Use:
- Vertical fixation: Always secure the B5 cylinder upright in a bottle holder or with a sturdy strap, whether on a mobile welding cart or in your company van. This prevents the cylinder from sliding or tipping over.
- Transport: Never transport the cylinder with a pressure regulator attached. Ensure the vehicle is well-ventilated.
- Storage: Preferably store the cylinders vertically in a dry and well-ventilated environment, protected from direct heat sources.
Safety
Specific safety information for Weldmix 15%:
- Asphyxiation hazard: Argon and CO₂ are both heavier than air. When used in a small, enclosed space, the gas can accumulate near the floor and displace oxygen. Always ensure good ventilation in the workspace.
- Pressure regulator: Use a pressure regulator specifically set for mixed gases. Since this mixture is under high pressure, a good flow meter (l/min) is crucial for optimal welding results and efficient gas consumption.
- No grease or oil: Keep the valve connection and the pressure regulator strictly free of oil and grease to prevent gas contamination and possible instability in the welding process.
- Valve protection: The valve on a B5 cylinder is vulnerable. Always wear the protective cap during transport and store the cylinder in a designated holder.
