Weldmix 15% AR CO₂ - B50
A Weldmix 15% B50 gas cylinder is the industrial standard for professional construction work. With a water capacity of 50 liters and a filling pressure of 200 or 300 bar, this cylinder offers the maximum gas supply per individual unit. The composition of 85% Argon and 15% CO₂ is the most popular "all-rounder" for MAG welding, where a powerful arc with deep penetration is required for structural steel.
The B50 is the workhorse for intensive use. Because the gas is stored under high pressure (not liquid) in gaseous form, the 85/15 ratio remains exactly the same throughout the entire lifespan of the cylinder. This format is ideal for companies with high welding production where downtime due to cylinder changes is costly.
Key features:
- Maximum continuity: The B50 format minimizes the frequency of changes, which significantly increases efficiency during shift work or series welding.
- All-round performance: The 15% CO₂ share provides excellent penetration in thicker steel, while the high concentration of Argon ensures a calm weld pool and minimal spatter.
- Industrial standard: The most frequently used format for stationary welding stations and welding robots in professional metalworking companies.
- No cylinder heating: Thanks to the stable composition, this mixed gas is not sensitive to freezing even at high flow rates, meaning additional heating equipment is not required.

Transport
Transport & Use:
- Mechanical transport: Due to the weight and size, the use of a mechanical aid (such as a hand truck) for internal transport is mandatory.
- Fixation: For transport in a vehicle, fixation with certified ratchet straps at two heights is mandatory. The cylinder must be in an upright position at all times.
- ADR Regulations: For commercial transport, the B50 is subject to ADR guidelines (UN 1956, Compressed gas, n.o.s., 2.2). Ensure the correct documentation and safety equipment are present in the vehicle.
Safety
Specific safety information for Weldmix 15% (B50):
- Asphyxiation hazard: A B50 cylinder contains a massive amount of gas. In the event of a leak in a confined space, oxygen levels are quickly displaced. Permanent ventilation in the workshop is a requirement.
- High-pressure system: Working with 200/300 bar requires industrial pressure regulators. Regularly inspect the condition of the hoses and ensure they are suitable for the maximum inlet pressure of the cylinder.
- Mechanical safety: A full B50 is heavy and has a high center of gravity. Always use a robust cylinder hand truck with a chain security system; never attempt to lift or "tilt" the cylinder manually for movement.
- Valve protection: The cylinder is long; the valve is very vulnerable if the cylinder falls over. Always wear the protective cap when the cylinder is not connected.
